Mother’s Day Gift Edit 2021

Nelly Loves “I Love You in French” 70cm x 50com print, Margaux Home match strike and Katie Scott x Polkra Atlas candle

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen way less of my own Mum than I would have liked to in the past year.  Something I’ll be making up for in a few weeks, Boris allowing!  Until then I’ll be spoiling her on Sunday 14th March, I can’t share what I’ve treated her to, just incase she’s reading this.  I did however think it might be helpful to share some of the gorgeous gifts I’ve found online which may be perfect for the significant female in your life, because let’s face it some may be gifting to Aunts, God Mothers, Grannies etc.  I’ve received some great mothers day gifts over the years, I fondly remember the handmade gifts and cards of the toddler years but what’s been really special as my daughter Sadie has grown up are the special gifts that she’s put real thought into and has been so thrilled to give.  As always when compiling such edits I’ve included items from small indie businesses, many of whom can be found over on Instagram.

I had four Mum types in mind when I wrote this piece, The Interiors Mum, The Entertainer Mum (when I say the entertainer, I mean she likes to be the hostess with the mostest not that she’s a circus performer), The Fashion Mum and The Beauty Mum.

First up is The Interiors Mum

I’ve selected a few things here which I love and think many Mums will too.  First up is Matilda Goad’s metal planters, shown here in pink and red (one of my fave colour combos) these are ticking the current scallop trend.  I’ve long been a lover of all things French and typography so these reproduction match strikes from Margaux Home are right up my street.  Anthropologie’s  Kinska Melena Face Pot  is super cute and would be an even better choice is she resembles your Mama.  I treated myself to Nelly Loves “I Love you in French” neon print the other month and I’m sure the sentiment of this would be well received.  The cottage core interior trend doesn’t look like it will be going anywhere anytime soon, this beaut embroidered gingham cushion is bang on the money.  Artist Florence Lee has a fab selection of affordable art prints on her site, starting at just £15 each.

The Entertainer Mum

I can’t wait to entertain once we’re allowed and I’m sure I’m not alone, here I’ve selected items which are perfect for brunches, dinners or a posh breakfast in bed.  Starting with Coco & Wolf’s Betsy floral napkins.  I love artist Nathalie Lete’s work and was thrilled to discover her range for Avenida Home the other week, this Bunny Birch Wood Tray stole my heart.  I always support local florist’s but if you do need to send to someone in another city By Bloom UK are a great option.  Our Gold Olly Octopus will add glamour to any dinner table, I add neon candles to mine for extra wow.  I bought a set of Anna Glover x Polkra coasters the other month, presented in a box these are such a lovely gift.  Truffles are perfect with coffee at the end of a meal, Charbonnel & Walker’s are a firm favourite in our house which come in lots of yummy flavours and the beautiful packaging is an added bonus.

The Fashion Mum

Margaux at Home stocks a great selection of gifts and this “Don’t Mess with Mama” t shirt is super cool.  Karen Mabon’s art silk scarves in incredible colours are just divine.  Lulu and Nat’s kimonos are a real luxury that would be treasured for years.  The Henderson’s Shop oversized Escape bag is a wonderful choice for when we are able to mini break.  Margaux at Home’s Love mini scarf is sweet and could be tied to a bag or used as a hair tie. Anthropologie always have a great range of jewellery and these earrings caught my eye straight away.

The Beauty Mum

Pampering beauty treats always go down well and I’ve tracked down some beauties, first up is a trio of soaps from Liberty in the most beautiful packaging. Oliver Bonas’s hand duo consisting of hand scrub and cream is a lovely idea and comes boxed.  I love visiting Liberty’s beauty concession so thought I’d virtually check it out, I’ve heard great things about The Daily Glow and they also stock Spacemasks.  A fan of the Liberty print for the last couple of decades their range of make up and toiletry bags would please any Liberty fan.  Oliver Bonas also came up trumps with this beautiful green glass hand held mirror.

I do hope that you found this guide helpful and discovered some great products and brands that you might not have otherwise.

Do comment below if you choose to treat someone special to one of the featured gifts, I’d love to know what you choose.

The best gift I could hope for would be getting to spend it with these two

Thanks for reading Anna x
